I'm only 19, but I have the life experience of someone much older. I've been through a lot in the past few years, but I truly believe the universe does not give you anything you do not have the strength to overcome. I'm curious, creative, thoughtful, precocious, and usually pretty honest, but I am also pretty sensitive and a little shy. I'm currently a student and will attend school in the fall as a psych major at U Penn, with the intention of pursuing psychiatry. Other than psychology, my passions include horseback riding (but I love all animals), hanging out with my friends like any other 19-year old, writing and journaling, and reading. I'm obsessed with Chuck Palahniuk and David Sedaris right now. Musically, I prefer alternative/hard rock bands like Soasin, Silverstein, blessthefall, and A Day to Remember, but I have (admittedly) succumbed to the Lady Gaga craze. My favorite movies are Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, The Departed, and American History X, but I prefer to buy boxed TV sets and watch all the episodes of that season in a row. Favorites include Friends, Lost, House, Bones, Arrested Development, and Weeds. My guiltiest pleasures are impulse shopping and watching old tv reruns over and over. I'm also pretty political active and love getting involved in a variety of student groups on campus. Politically, I'm liberal, but open to discussions. I'm not religious, but very spiritual and I meditate daily, Otherwise, I think life passes you by too quickly. My three life tenants are honesty, respect, and love. I think success is simply living a life in a way that's in accordance with these three values. I have too often taken my life for granted, but I'm learning to slow down and just be present. My favorite ways to just experience the moment are driving with the windows down in my bug and blasting music with the windows down on warm summer nights, collaging or doing something creative with my hands, or journaling and reflecting about the day. There are also days when I can't sit still and need to be active or entertained - I also love roller coasters, really bad horror films, and being spontaneous and impulsive - which is probably one of my biggest weakness. I'm also pretty messy, addicted to diet coke, usually late, and my head is often somewhere in the clouds. When it comes back down, however, it usually has something good to say. Other than that, they only thing I can say is you won't meet a sweeter, quirkier, more genuine person out there (as long as you're cool with the sensitivity, sloppiness, and spaciness that come along with these three traits).

Something simple - I'm easy. Probably just a simple lunch or dinner somewhere so we could talk and see if it feels right. If not, no worries. But if it does, I can usually end up talking for hours with this person. I think should be completely low key though so no one feels too much pressure.

Sky-diving. Seriously - just take me to a plane and drop me out of it. I crave that freedom, even if its so momentary, 'cuz I don't ever want to feel trapped by life.

Heal others and help them find their paths. I want to major in psychology and go to med school for psychiatry. I don't just want to prescribe to patients, however - I think they are too few psychiatrists who still do both talk therapy and prescription with patients and I think that's a shame. It shouldn't be about how much money you can make, but how many people you can help.

I'm not looking for anything too serious right now, just dating. If something more happens, however, I'm open to it as well. I'm a pretty open and nonjudgmental person, but I'm most attracted to androgyny. Personality-wise, it is extremely important to me that the other woman be genuine, witty, and kind. I also would like the other person to be in a similar place on their life path in terms of beliefs, ideals, and values.
