One could say that I am a "hard femme"--the type of girl who would jump a fence in a dress, maybe scrap her knee, wipe off the blood, and carry on. I'm quite feminine but having fairly broad shoulders, I feel like I could have easily played women's football, but nonetheless my strong shoulders are more for climbing up things and giving amazing hugs (and holding someone tight!). On the whole, I am independent, mature, gregarious (with few moments of girlish shyness), driven, studious, jovial, compassionate, and affectionate--and I'm looking for someone with similar qualities. I have a very positive and uplifting personality, and I'm a take-action kind of girl, and I am seeking to surround myself with that same type of energy and enthusiasm for life--negativity and apathy are huge turn-offs. I would love to find a woman who is self-assured, intelligent, caring, has a good sense of humor, who "has it together" and can carry on a balanced, egalitarian conversation. I am a romantic person who is keen on manners and classiness (I'm no stranger to holding doors and pulling out chairs--and I don't mind receiving the same gestures if you're that type of lady too)--and I treat everyone with respect. I am not one for drama, confrontation, baggage, nor love-triangles. At the moment, I'm looking to just date and have fun. However, if the chemistry is there, potentially creating something serious and lasting would be amazing. I'm originally from Ohio--born, raised, and went to college there, and it's where most of my loving and supportive family still reside (although both of my sisters now live in LR as well--but we all live in separate houses). I make trips back to Ohio as much as possible to visit family and friends, and even go there for work. Before settling in LR (for now) three and a half years ago, I traveled the country for nearly 10 years, mainly for service opportunities, and moved here from New Orleans. I am an altruistic person who loves to help people, and have built my career on doing national service (four terms of service in AmeriCorps). I currently work for an established non-profit foundation, in a program focused on environmental issues and social responsibility--it's exciting work and exactly what I want to be doing. In addition to all of my interests above, these days, one of my main focuses in my off time is completing things on my "The 29th Year Bucket List", which is to try to do certain things before I turn 30 in August...So far, I've crossed big #1 off my list to complete my first marathon. Next, is to do my first sprint triathlon! Want to join me in my adventures?

Let's go on an adventure--something out of the ordinary. Maybe geocaching, to a flea market, an art class, belly dancing, or a fitness activity that could be new to us both (or I can introduce you to rock climbing at the local gym). Maybe something as sweet and simple as slowly walking together through the stacks of a library, feverishly whispering to one another while feeling like school girls. Something memorable.

I just met my goal of completing my first marathon, so now I want to do my first sprint triathlon.
